This is another drop of water into the big hype machine. Is InfinityWard  going too far with all these extras? No doubt that Modern Warfare 1.0 was an excellent game. But the short single player (6 hours max) and lack of maps for the multiplayer left players with a bitter taste in their mouths. Hardened editions, Night Vision  goggles and now statues? For 79.99 it better come with a HDMI hookup.

Mad Catz reveals Modern Warfare 2 controllers for young (and old) snipers

If Infinity Ward’s own Prestige Edition of Modern Warfare 2 isn’t enough to satisfy your lust for custom hardware, Mad Catz is ready to pick up the slack with no less than ten MW2-branded peripherals. The crown jewel to the set will be the Combat Controller, which will have a couple of extra buttons, but more importantly, is likely the controller Robert Bowling was tweeting about last month. Come this November, you’ll also be able to talk smack via a Throat Communicator on the 360 or a more mundane Bluetooth Headset on the PS3, add Skinz to your controllers and Microsoft console, and even your neglected PC can be enriched with an Elite Keyboard and Sniper Mouse combo. In other words – THE HYPE MACHINE IS IN FULL EFFECT.

Update: IGN has been first to preview the full plethora of goods, and we’ve got the video for you after the break (Thanks, quasar).

Cutting-edge news arrives from informants that Modern Warfare 2 will be confirming 600p resolution as the former game of the sequence did. With this newsworthiness it appears that the developer Infinity Ward has determined to prefer a resolution of sub-HD.

In other words we could state that Infinity Ward has made the compromise of less resolution that is of course in favor of a broader frame rate and a lot of detail. As a matter of fact Modern Warfare 2 really runs in the comparatively low resolution of 1024 x 600. Oh yeah, the console will in reality upscale these to any display resolution gamers pick out. Personal computer exploiters will be able to fork up the game at decent resolutions.

Modern Warfare 2 Call of Duty 6

Modern Warfare 2 Call of Duty 6

The picture shows the cover art of Modern Warfare 2 for xBox 360. Most likely it will be the same for the Playstation 3 and PC releases.

Take a note that the “CALL OF DUTY” logo has been removed. What does this mean? Who know. MW1 was such a success that they might want to separate the game from the COD series.

The box art there holds the Call of Duty tag with the Modern Warfare name. This is the fresh and just completed production ready and it is of course waiting to be filled with retail DVD’s.

The Community Manager of Infinity Ward, Robert Bowling recently revealed the cases of MW2 with box art images to display the Call of Duty brand being present right on the front.

One this is for sure, no one will care whats on the box but whats in it. As long as the game is good it can be called “Modern Pink Panda” for all I care 🙂
